SGAC has opened applications for two integral roles to the organisation: Treasurer and Project Coordinator. These positions are within the Executive Office of SGAC and offer a challenging and highly-rewarding experience. The skills and leadership developed by carrying out these roles will prove valuable in any career path.

Treasurer: The primary role of the treasurer is to ensure that the financial obligations of the organisation are met and to manage the funds available so the organisation can go about its business quickly and easily. SGAC is seeking a candidate with excellent communication skills, quick response time, and a good grasp of bookkeeping. The ideal candidate would show evidence of previous experience managing an organisation’s finances and be willing to invest on average 3-10 hours per month, reporting to the Executive Director. A general working knowledge of bookkeeping and financial management is required. The roles and responsibilities of the treasurer are defined in the SGAC Statutes and By-laws, available on the About SGAC page within the website.

Project Coordinator: The Project Coordinator role within SGAC provides operational support and oversight for the individual Project Leads of SGAC’s various projects. SGAC usually has three to seven projects active at one time, each requiring a unique blend of management support. The Project Coordinator will report to the Executive Director and work with the Project Leads to ensure that projects are organised with effective use of project management tools (e.g., Gantt charts), delivered on time and on budget and producing high-quality output. This role will require on average about 3-5 hours per week. Project management experience is preferred but not a requirement. Applicants should have strong communication and organisation skills and be proactive leaders and self-starters.
