SGAC is currently looking for a full time (40h/week) intern in its main office in Vienna, Austria

The internship will have a duration of three months (Nov 24 2010 – Feb 25 2011). The intern will work under the supervision of the Executive Director. Half of his or her time will be dedicated to SGAC 2010 Annual Report, Executive Summary of the Annual Report, and SGAC marketing documents. Additionally, he or she will devote the other half of his or her time to library and documentation matters as well administrative help.

After organising yet another successful Space Generation Congress (SGC) in Prague, Czech Republic, SGAC was represented well at the 2010 International Astronautical Congress (IAC) by many of the SGAC's young leaders. Eleven SGC delegates were selected to presented their papers, demonstrating the quality of the SGC attendees.

The Space Generation Congress (SGC) 2010 closed on Saturday, 25 September with final presentations given by each of the five project groups (Industry, Agency, Climate, Exploration and Outreach) and five speeches delivered by top space professionals, including a first-time ever address at SGC by NASA Administrator, Charles F. Bolden.


Second Day of SGC 2010

The second day of Space Generation Congress (SGC) 2010 started with the premier of a short movie featuring key moments in space history.  The movie was completed via a partnership between the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln (UNL). The movie tells a brief, but concise history of space exploration in a montage of images and videos of the most significant moments of outer space exploration since 1957. It also uses graphics to expose the critical issue of the long-term, sustainable use of Earth’s orbit and examines visionary space projects including mining the Moon and space-based solar power.


Space Generation Congress 2010 Kicks Off

The first day of the Space Generation Congress (SGC) 2010 organised by the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) got off to a flying start yesterday with 100 top delegates gathering together in Prague to debate the latest space issues.  The event marks a milestone in SGC history as the largest youth space event to date.

Space Generation Congress 2010 (SGC 2010) delegates attended today the premier of a short movie on the history, present and the future of human space exploration – a collaborative project between the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln (UNL). “Space Generations: From Sputnik to Today to Tomorrow” was presented during the plenary session of the second day of SGC 2010, taking place in Prague, Czech Republic.
