SGAC has opened applications an important role to the organisation: Co-Secretary. This position offers challenging, rewarding, and professional skill-building experiences.

The Executive Co-Secretary will be part of the SGAC's Executive Office, working under the supervision of the Executive Director. There is one spot open for this role. The Co-Executive Secretary will join the current Executive Co-Secretary, Aafaque Khan (India), and as a team the duo will be in charge of the following duties:

  • Moderating mailing lists
  • Setting up telecons
  • Running SGAC's Member of the Month programme
  • Taking minutes of telecons and other meetings
  • Running the appointment process of NPoCs
  • Customising NPoC and RC appointment letters
  • Updating and monitoring content on SGAC website
  • Completing all preparations including bylaw and statute reviews, agenda development, and telecon set up for the annual General Assembly meeting
  • Assisting the Executive Director and Chairs with miscellaneous operational needs
  • Answering general questions of the organisation and email requests

Approximately, the Executive Co-Secretary’s duties require 3-4 hours per week. This post requires excellent English skills, speedy email response time, and good computer skills. The Co-Secretaries also are part of the Executive Office and serve on the Elections Oversight Board.
