Each year, the Space Generation Fusion Forum (SGFF) convenes students and young professionals from a mix of industry, government agencies, and academia to examine and consider key questions facing the space sector and the international community at large. The Space Generation Advisory Council is looking for a skillful, highly-motivated volunteer to act as the event manager for the SGFF. This event allows tomorrow’s space sector leaders to grow their network within their generation and to interact with today’s space leaders by way of the high-level space industry leaders.

  • Lead the recruitment of the organizing team for the event

  • Coordinate and supervise the organizing team for the event

  • Develop the overall work plan and event schedule

  • Plan the strategic development of the SGFF series

  • Ensure the event quality and structure is in line with the SGAC guidelines

  • Attend the monthly Executive Council Meetings, Strategic Partnership Team meetings, and any other meetings as required

The SGFF Manager will work under the supervision of the SGAC Executive Director. S/he will be an appointed member of the SGAC Executive Council, in accordance with the SGAC bylaws. This is a volunteer position.

Estimated time commitment: 8 hours per week


Necessary Qualifications

  • Membership in SGAC

  • Quick email response time

  • Experience with project management and task scheduling

  • Attention to detail

  • Familiarity with the SGAC mission and its objectives

  • Customer service mentality

  • Professional Fluency (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) in English

  • Awareness of international cooperation principles, concepts and techniques

Prior experience with organizing events and with SGAC (either teams or attending an SGAC event) is a plus.



As the SGFF Event Manager, you will have the opportunity to network with industry professionals, academics, and upcoming leaders. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to enhance his/her leadership and management skills, and work with an international, interdisciplinary, and multicultural team.

Active members of SGAC teams are considered for nomination for SGAC scholarships and awards. They may also attend one SGAC event per year for free.
