SGAC is looking for volunteers to support the organisation of the 2nd Space Generation Workshop (ESGW) in Paris, France.

The European Space Generation Workshop (ESGW) is a two day regional workshop for students and young professionals in the European region. The date of the workshop is 24th and 25th March 2017 and the host city is Paris, France. It will be held in conjunction with the IAF Spring Meeting, which is held every year in the Parisian Congress Centre close to the Eiffel Tower.
SGAC is looking for motivated volunteers to support the organisation of the 2nd E-SGW workshop requires your commitment as an inspired team member to create a successful and efficient event. In exchange this opportunity offers you the chance to collaborate in an international team to increase your expertise in your designated roles, to learn new approaches on an international level and to connect to the future space leaders.
The positions to volunteer are within the following teams:
- Communication Team
- Delegates’ Team
- Logistics Team
- Program Team
All positions are on a volunteer basis and are open to all SGAC members currently residing in Europe. Please be aware of the duration of your volunteer role of about 1 year until May 2017.

Communication Team (2 positions)
Your role requires the support of the Workshop public relations and advertising. You will work closely with the SGAC Public Relations (PR) and the Communication Manager and the Event Managers together. Your tasks will include:
Coordinating media relations and advertising before, during and after the Workshop
Writing press releases in social medias
Liaising with the 2nd E-SGW Team and other organisations on promotion
Developing brochures and potential sponsor packs for the 2nd E-SGW
Delegate’s Team (2 Positions)
Your role requires the support of the Delegate related process through all phases of the Workshop: Application, Selection, Coordination, Information Prior and Past the Workshop. You will work closely with the SGAC “” and the Program Team together. Your tasks will include:
Coordinating all contact with delegates, potential and actual
Supporting the selection of delegates
Point of contact for delegates on issues/questions
Creating Delegates’ Database
Logistics Team (2 Positions)
Your role requires the support the organisation of the logistics aspects of the Workshop: Event Venue, Gathering, Social Event Programmes, Gala Dinner, etc. You will work closely with the Delegates Team and the Costs Team together. Your tasks will include:
Liaising with responsible persons at ESA to book a room for the Workshop
Organising the gathering for the two days of the Workshop
Organising the social events (dinners, gala diner, visits, …)
Finding hotels and travel information for the guest speakers
Elaborating estimated budgets for different organisational phases of the workshop
Coordinating the financial flows before, during and after the Workshop
Program Team (2 Positions)
Your role requires the support of the organisation of the Workshop’s program. You will work closely with the Delegate’s Team together. Your tasks will include:
Develop and prepare the plan and the topics for the workshop
Select moderators, speakers and coordinate with the for invitation
Coordinating a cloud-based collaboration among all team members
Writing related reports and documents
Developing templates and standards for future workshops

About the 2017 E-SGW
E‐SGW2 will be held at the ESA premises on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th March in conjunction with the IAF Spring Meeting taking place every year in mid/end of March in Paris and gathering around 300 people. The Spring Meeting 2017 will take place from the 21st to 23rd March 2017.
