SGAC is proud to announce the NASA Advanced Exploration Systems (AES) scholarship recipient. The scholarship package includes round-trip flights to Adelaide, hotel accommodation, 16th Space Generation Congress (SGC) 2017 and 68th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) 2017 registration.
SGAC would like to thank NASA AES for their generous support of SGAC and this scholarship. Let´s congratulate the scholarship winner, Ryan Joyce!
Ryan Joyce is a M.S. student in Aerospace Engineering with a focus on Space Systems Design at the University of Maryland in College Park, MD. He also received his B.S. from the University of Maryland in 2015. Ryan’s graduate studies have focused primarily on human spacecraft concepts and design with the goal to inform and improve the next generation of human spacecraft. As a student Ryan has helped lead three teams in the NASA sponsored RASC-AL competitions investigating a human Mars surface architecture, a low Earth orbit human spacecraft concept, and design and fabrication of a rover for Earth-based simulation and competition. Since January 2017, Ryan has been working as a Pathways (co-op) student at NASA Langley Research Center informing NASA’s design of cis-lunar and Martian spacecraft and exploration mission concepts.
“I am honored and thrilled to receive the opportunity to contribute to SGC 2017 and attend IAC 2017. I am a strong believer in the values of international collaboration, especially with regard to space exploration, and I am excited to help foster and facilitate future partnerships for the benefit of all involved”
