Results for the 2016 African Regional Coordinator Elections

On 20 July 2016 SGAC held an elections for the African Regional Coordinator position. The votes have been cast and it is with great pleasure that we announce Beza Tesfaye Zewdie(Ethiopian) has been re-elected as the Regional Coordinator for Ethiopia.

SGAC is proud to announce the appointment of a new Operations Manager and a Local Events Coordinator as part of our global team of volunteers. PJ Valenzuela (USA) has been appointed as our new Operations Manager, replacing Ali Nasseri (Canada/Iran) who was elected as Co-Chair earlier this year. Bruno Sarli (Brazil), former Regional Coordinator for South America, has been appointed to the new role of SGAC Local Events Coordinator.
Results for the 2016 European & North, Central, and Caribbean Regional Coordinator Elections

On 30 June 2016 SGAC held two elections for the Regional Coordinator position: one for Europe and one for the North, Central, and Caribbean (NCAC) region. The votes have been cast and it is with great pleasure that we announce Mr. Matteo Emanuelli (Italy) has been re-elected as the Regional Coordinator for Europe, and Mr. Juan Gramajo (Guatemala) will be joining as the newly elected NCAC Region.

SGAC and the SEPG are teaming up to hold a workshop on Mars Analogue Simulations during the 67th International Astronautical Congress in Guadalajara, Mexico. The workshop will take place on 25 September, 2016 (Sunday) from 10:00h - 17:00h (local time).
Participants will have the opportunity learn about mission operations and procedures, technological challenges, risks and emergencies, human factors in isolation, and performing surface operations with a space suit and food on Mars.

The SGAC has released the topics for the 2016 Space Generation Congress working groups. Delegates to the SGC will spend three days discussing topical issues of the space industry in work groups lead by young professionals and subject matter experts. The results of these discussions will then be compiled into a report to be presented to the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, the International Astronautical Congress, and other congresses around the world.

SGAC in partnership with Future Space Leaders Foundation (FSLF) and SATELLITE 2016, hosted its first technology focused event, SGx in March 2016. The first SGx brought together young professionals, experts in the industry and government leaders to discuss pressing issues and innovative ideas in a brand new way.
