SGAC membership has been steadily growing throughout the years. Among our membership there are many incredible young space enthusiasts who should be recognised for their hard work and contributions to SGAC. In December 2009, the SGAC Executive Council decided to acknowledge one member per month for his or her outstanding work and contributions to SGAC and its goals.

We are proud to present the November 2010 Member of the Month: Ondrej Bruna (Czech Republic), SGC 2010

Ondrej Bruna grew up always gazing at the stars, which inspired his passion for space and technology in general. He chose to studyondrej electrotechnics at the secondary school in Olomouc and continued his studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FEE) at the Czech Technical University (CTU). Here he focused on control engineering and cybernetics. Ondrej has also studied abroad for a semester at Kansas State University. Upon returning, Ondrej has continued his studies in control engineering, where he is now in his second year of his master's degree.

Yohan Ferreira (Sri Lanka), Regional Coordinator for Asia Pacific, nominated Ondrej:
"I am pleased to nominate Ondrej Bruna, Conference Venues and Fundraising Coordinator in the SGC 2010 Local Team, for October Member of the Month. I had corresponded with Ondrej by e-mail before meeting him in Prague on 19th September. Ondrej was very dedicated from the beginning and invaluable to making SGC 2010 a resounding success! He efficiently handled multiple roles which included offering valuable suggestions, guiding us around Prague, liasoning with the Charles University staff, helping in the negotiate with the catering, picking up outreach material from the Czech Space Office and the delegate bags from the logistics company, assisting to prepare the main lecture room, packing the delegate bags, assisting to shop for food for the coffee breaks and wine for the reception etc. Despite the pressure, he was always friendly, calm and never lost his sense of humour. It was a pleasure meeting and working with him. We need more committed, selfless volunteers like Ondrej to take SGAC forward. I hope he also considers applying for the position of Co-NPoC for the Czech Republic as he and Pavel would make a great team! For all these reasons, Ondrej deserves to be recognised as the SGAC Member of the Month for October. "

And here is our MoM October reaction:
“SGC was a great experience thanks to the opportunity to connect with young people sharing the same passion as me. I was happy to help with the congress and to be part of such a great group of people. I was also very proud of Prague being the host city of SGC and IAC. I hope that everyone enjoyed it as much as possible.  We did our best! Along with me many other people from Czech Republic worked on the preparations. I think everyone did a great job and I am very happy I could be part of it. I appreciate very much being chosen as Member of the Month. Thank you very much.”
